Evaluator Bianca Fasiolo (Artist)

I am an independent art researcher and a graduate of the MA in Visual Arts at IUAV University – Venezia. I worked as a cultural mediator for Documenta 14 in Athens and I have been collaborating as a studio assistant for the artist Armin Linke and production assistant for the Monica Bonvicini Studio in Berlin. I have worked as Assistant Project Manager for the Mexican Pavilion at the 56th Venice Art Biennial and as a trainee at After the Butcher project space-Berlin. Turning to my personal research, my work is deeply influenced by the interests I have in visual semiotics and iconology as well as the history of non-art images such as scientific illustrations and diagrams. In my practice I generally privilege a collaborative approach, working together with other artists for community-based and collective art projects. The final output is often the result of an intense exchange of knowledge and technical abilities developed in a context of shared and expanded authoriality. Regarding my experience as performer : I recently performed in "A Choir of Five" by Monica Bonvicini on occasion of the event Music, Myth and Electricity in Munich and I had the opportunity to be part of "What remains of a Rembrandt torn in four equal pieces and flushed down the toilet ", performance by the artistic duo Simone Basani e Alice Ciresola that took place at Palazzo Fortuny, Venice, during the exhibition Intuition. In summer 2017 I was a performer for the "Whispering campaign" by Pope.L in the context of documenta 14 in Athens.
