Dr. Joachim-Volker Höltje, scientist at the Max-Planck-Institute for Developmental Biology and apl. Professor for Microbiology at the University of Tübingen, accepted an early retirement in order to establish an art gallery.

The gallery jochen höltje is devoted to contemporary art in particular featuring abstract art. Besides well known artist such as Gerhard Hoehme, Antonio Calderara, Raimer Jochims, Rudolf Schoofs, Erdmut Bramke among others, also young artist at the beginning of their careers are presented and promoted.

A special focus of the gallery is modern art of the east. Two Japanese artists, Kunito Nagaoka (Kyoto) and Koho Mori-Newton (living in Germany) have been exhibited as well as the Chinese artist Shen Fan (Shanghai).
