Galerie Willy Schoots was founded in 1968 in a time when there were hardly any modern art galleries in the Netherlands. From the beginning the gallery has been located at the Willemstraat 27 in Eindhoven.
Artists and visitors immediately felt at home in the grand exhibition rooms, in total as big as 500 m². The enthusiasm and care with which art is presented have made Galerie Willy Schoots into a flourishing gallery with international allure.
At the end of 1995 the gallery changed course. From then on the gallery chose to present 5 grand exhibitions a year and also organise more activities during the exhibition. Nearly every exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue or a book and also a lecture on the artist. Also was decided that the gallery would present its artists regularly at national and international Fairs such as KunstRAI (Amsterdam), Art Brussels and Art Cologne.
The artists mentioned on this internet-site play a crucial role in the current exhibition policy of Galerie Willy Schoots. Amongst them are international known artists such as Armando, Bram Bogart and Carl-Henning Pedersen and national celebrities such as Ger Lataster, Lucebert and Jan Sierhuis.
Amongst the younger artists of the gallery you will find Jos van der Beek, Paul Smulders, Peter Jansen, Rik van Iersel, Stijn Peeters and A.B. Roorda.
