Antoni Muntadas

He was born in Barcelona in 1942, and studied there in the Higher Technical School for Industrial Engineers and the Pratt Graphic School in New York. His work is based on the use of new audio-visual technology and on the way that it inter-relates and interacts with the spectator. He represented Spain at the Venice Bienniale of Art in 2005. In 2009, he worked on an interactive installation for the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona, where he used smell as a form of expression. He has taught at several centres, such as the Fine Art schools in Bordeaux and Grenoble, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the National Fine Art School in Paris.
