In his collaborative performances, videos, and installations, Christian Jankowski explores aspects of the art world and collecting, as in Strip the Auctioneer (2009), an auction in which the speaker himself was up for sale, or his piece for the 2011 Frieze Art Fair, an Italian yacht presented as sculpture with two accompanying price tags (the actual value and an inflated "art" price). Jankowski s works frequently incorporate elements of television culture like televangelism or, in his 2011 work Casting Jesus, the reality show format.
