Gabriel Orozco

Gabriel Orozco (American/Mexican, born April 27, 1962) is a Contemporary painter, sculptor, and photographer known for re-framing everyday objects and exploring the boundary between public and private spheres. Born in Veracruz, Mexico, he studied at the Escuela Nacional de Arte Pl?sticas and Circulo de Bellas Artes. Orozco?s early work follows the tradition of the readymades of Marcel Duchamp: Cats and Watermelons places 11 cans of cat food on top of watermelons, and Yogurt Cap is a series of nothing but clear lids with colored rims.
