Georg Herold?who studied under Sigmar Polke in the late 1970s and had alliances with Werner B?ttner, Albert Oehlen, and Martin Kippenberger in the 1980s?is best known for his installations and sculptures made of simple, everyday materials like bricks, bottles, mattresses, and underwear, which show the influence of Arte Povera and Joseph Beuys. Conversely, he has also created portraits and abstract works using caviar eggs and lacquer on canvas.
