My artistic practice explores image archives, found photography and film, the cultural lexicons of research and collecting from an anthropological point of view, stressing the links between pictures, their narrative potential and their contexts of production and receptions.
I am interested in how images communicate specific meanings, how they are usually read from a certain knowledge-related perspective, how such perspectives are in their turn strongly embedded within onthological modes of existence and how we can subvert such an approach in order to gain new, unforeseen knowledge from these images.
Looking at the subject matter from a different perspective, I aim to stress the liminal boundaries between fields of knoweldge and truth and fiction, as well as discovering aesthetic features embedded in specific visual imaginary.
