Hara Kostopoulou

I was born and grown in Greece. Art here is everywhere around us and our education, from the very first years of our lives, concludes great references to the art of our ancestors. Nevertheless I was lucky enough to grow up in a bookshop. In that way it is explained my love for books and the great role that literature has in my work. After my occupation with Graphic Art, I think that there was a visible change on my work. So the use of computer is stronger now. The digital approach of art combines its characteristics with traditional creative ways. Graphistic view affects the visualization of my thoughts, in their evolution. The central idea that characterizes my work, is the position of person in the city. It deals with the urban loneliness and how the city includes, many politismic identities. There are references to war, until today we arrive to economical crisis and its consequences. There are also units that have more personal character. There is reflected a person that lives things that happen in the city everyday (or today). That is the figure that takes the effort of a person to stay composed, into so many bizarre economical and social circumstances, looking for its own shelters and its personal ways of expression. My work has also to do with the Feminine Art and its perception nowadays. I’m still try to find the link between childhood and adulthood. Collage plays a significant part in my works, through the different forms that it could take.
