Kepler 452b

Kepler 452b is a sixteen-hour immersive event combining art, performance, installation, fashion, music and dance party. Using metaphor of space migration, we create a venue for envisioning possible futures - of openness, collective action, inclusion, self-expression and collective-individualism. The project was founded in September 2017 with the launch of Kepler, leaving Earth, traveling through space, and landing on Kepler 452b, an earth like planet located 1,400 light years away. Our next event, set to take place in Berlin on March 16, is a long duration event, starting from 6pm Friday until the next day at noon, with an estimated 800 participants. Using recycled materials, artists will be invited to create art installations. Upon arrival, participants will be encouraged to try on outfits modified by designers using second-hand clothing and take on secret tasks in order to play out their new personas. The event combines the formats of exhibition, lecture, workshop, performance and concert. Kepler will also travel to San Francisco and Shanghai in 2018. Artists, designers, musicians and DJs closely collaborate throughout the event to create a space for audience participation. We create atmospheres ranging from dramatic darkness to positive brightness and together we will reflect on an anxious present, inspire mobility, and celebrate collective wisdom and imagination. The event aims to create the atmosphere of an ideal future society of openness, freedom, sustainability, compassion and collective-individualism.
