I create work dedicated to the representation of self authorship and societal defiance. As a visual, conceptional, and performance artist, my works find their roots in subcultural vernacular and unorthodox actualities. Through performative structures that span video, sculpture, sound & photography, I take a poetically autocratic approach to explorations of all that is reverenced & haram within the dualities found in my own spiritual practice, gendered & sexual allegiance, & cultural triality, introducing a brand of self governing politic not readily associated with minority female selfhood. My work stands to confront society s stronghold on what is seen as sacred, fixated & non questionable, political discrepancies vital in the oppression of marginalized peoples, womanhood, femme tranquility, and the fluidity of masculinity. My goal has always been to live a life via self governance, sustainable by my own hand, and keeping those not possessing my privilege, close in tact in both the physical and psychological realms of my everyday life.
