Austrian painter Herbert Brandl produces paintings characterized by swaths of vibrant color and dizzying brushstrokes. Emerging from the Hamburg School painting tradition, Brandl?s work includes landscape imagery?mountains and flowers?and non-representational color surfaces, often on large-format canvases both rectangular and circular in shape.
